So this girl isn't my girlfriend officially, but we have been dating for a while and I plan to ask her to be my gf soon.
Anyway, she invited me to dinner with her family tonight. Her mom, grandma, aunt, and little brother. I have met her mom before. She said this is important to her.
I have questions.
1) Is it weird if I order a beer? I'm driving there, but I honestly had a long day at work and a beer sounds great.
2) When the bill comes, obviously I am going to reach for my wallet. But if they insist on paying for me, do I let them or make sure I pay for myself? Do I pay for my "gf" too?
Let them pay they invited you but insist on leaving the tip also if youre gonna drink keep it at one drink then get sodas you don't want to seem like a drunk good luck
Ordering one beer is not weird at all
Since there are no other males, if i were you i would push a little more to pay for everyone.
It makes you look very good, points for the future and you want her to be your GF right? So its a great investment ni
Order a beer. Just one though, it'll relax you a bit more.
Offer to pay for at least you and your girlfriend. And like the other anon said, if they insist, then ensure you leave the tip. The gesture will be appreciated.

Thanks lads.
I honestly would pay for them and I really want to, but I'm a poor college student. I really can't afford it.
I just don't want it to seem like "Oh hey I'll pay for myself and her, fuck everyone else" So it's either me by myself or everyone.
But yeah if they insist I'll just let them pay and I'll do the tip. Then next time we go out, I'll make sure I save enough to pay for everyone.
Bump before I go in
