Hello,
I see a psych quarterly and he has diagnosed me with depression, yet prescribed me an antipsychotic, Abilify. Usually I have paranoid thoughts, social anxiety, avoiding everyone, magical thinking, but no hallucinations. Neither my psychiatrist nor my therapist think I'm schizophrenic, but the therapist thinks I should get a second opinion, though she insists I'm not schizo.
Could this be undiagnosed bipolar disorder or perhaps schizotypal personality?

You fukin crazy nigga lmao
I forgot to mention that SSRIs make me want to drink. My theory is that they let too much serotonin build up and so I want to dump it all by getting drunk.
The Abilify takes away the paranoia about 90%. I take 3mg. It helps in interacting with people, tolerating their perspectives and not coming across as a know-it-all misanthrope.
Also strange is that past psychedelic use actually brought these symptoms to the forefront, especially with psilocybin. Usually I've heard stories of psychedelics helping mental conditions and even addictions but my addictive behavior is excessive when I'm off of this antipsychotic, which is basically the opposite of a psychedelic, so that's confusing.
I know 4chan isn't a place to go asking for medical advice, and I do have an appointment coming up with a different psychiatrist, but I was thinking maybe someone had a similar experience or a theory on why brain works like this.
