Why does it take ages to see any progress on practice? I'm trying to improve in so many things as fast as possible and it seems like things are going nowhere. Hell it's gotten to the point where my girlfriend is better than me at vidya. Do I need focus? Am i retarded or something?

You seem impatient and also taking on more than you can actually manage. Chill and work slowly. Progress takes a while.

Maybe you're right. I'm very disorganized and I do want fast progress, because I want to catch up with the pros. Would a journal help?

Because obtaining, processing and memorizing information all need time?
Also yes, sounds like you lack focus and stress out too much. Don't forget to get enough sleep and the likes too. Improvement is simple repetition for most things.

But it feels like it's taking too long. Other people do it fast and brag about it

Usually because they already had helpful skills or better learning methods. Back in school I did better than most kids even though I knew less because I was good at guesstimating based on the knowledge I had for example.
To take the vidya example, perhaps your girlfriend got better reflexes or thinks faster.
Besides, it's always harder to improve if you work on multiple things.

She was able to beat me in xenoverse. When I played her friends in smash I had a harder time than she did. Not that I sucked ass, but she was able to handle them much better than me. I haven't played either in a year. It's all really humiliating since I used to play melee as a kid. Add to that, I nearly had a conflict with my brother since I thought he'd make fun of my girlfriend predicament
