Might be just my experience but most of the skinny guys with a gf I know, actually went for a chubby. Though they were kinda desperate too, so there is that. Though myself, I'd definitely never settle for a girl with BMI over 21. As you said, there is not much of a point finding your partner disgusting.

Also, it tends to work different for men and women. Skinny chicks usually try to be skinny, most dudes don't try to reach Auschwitz-mode, they simply don't eat enough or have great metabolism. If guys pay attention to their body, they usually aim for otter mode or muscle.

Got a pretty similar body to the guy in the pic (although less toned now because I am a lazy shit) and got more negative than positive feedback for it on the average, pretty much every girl I dated sans one preferred more muscle (even my current girlfriend, lol), all skinny chicks themselves. Most of my female friends go for more /fit/ guys too. So at least based on my personal experience, you do have slightly less competition for your "target group" since most chicks tend to prefer more muscle, and too skinny guys get approached by more whales and chubbies, so you'd stand out already.

Besides, there is the whole preference thing, and while most aren't into fat, some chub is rarely a deal breaker. Don't stress over it too much. It's less about being equally skinny but feeling somewhat comfortable in your body. Losing weight can help with that but that alone won't do shit.

I always felt useless as a woman because I was never one of the pretty girls; this point of view changed when I became pregnant.
I feel like I have a purpose because I have a life to protect, and I will have a bond that can only come from a woman's comfort.
