My school has mentality of a prison.
There are fights everyday, you look someone wrong,fight is on at known place known time, every few days there are roadblocks because someone brought a gun or something to school to "finish it off"

I know ots wrong and I shouldn't be like our ancestor were thinking fighting is the only way out but that's how I i gotta live for 4 more years

OP take it from someone who is 25, never been in a fighter but could have MANY times, you did the right thing

there is no honor in fighting anymore these days, you can get killed very easily, ganged up on, etc. I knew a star basketball player in my high school who got dropped onto a curb cold sucker punched for just talking to some dudes girl at a bar and is pretty much 70% of what he used to be, can't play basketball anymore, has a weird shaped head. They never even found out who did it.

Blame hollywood for glorifying fighting. It's not something you want to do.
only fight if you absolutely have to.
