I had a recent realization and feel elated, I've been suffering from depression for years, have been diagnosed but initially did not take care of myself until recently realized how bad it's gotten and how much it has clouded my thinking. I feel relatively calm right now, but I realize I may repeat the cycle and quickly become negative again.
How do you make sure you're out of it for good, and how do you keep yourself accountable and convinced that you need to leave depression? Anyone go through this before? pic unrelated
My nigga, I'm in literally the same position as you. It's been about 2 months now and I've never felt better.
I just try to think positive, find the good in most things and tell myself no when thoughts get cloudy and bad again.
Just keep moving forward and everything will get better along with you.

there's no real answer. but my advice? try to look at life like a video game. when the hard part comes you dont turn it off. its part of the fun. think of life like a TV show. the main character doesn't spiral into depression and stays victimizing. he finds out what hte problem is, tries to fix it, and uses it as a learning lesson.
most problems are fixable. the worst case scenario is you let go of something or someone holding you back. if your dad depresses you, dont call him.
>dude, just, like, think positive bro

Depression's main source are negative chain of thoughts, so it makes sense.

I feel as if there's only one way to leave it behind for good: suicide.
I've been suffering from depression at least 8 years (diagnosed) and I'm worse than I've ever been. I see no other way out than suicide.

No, only tried LSD and DMT. They sort of help but only short term. It's almost impossible to stay in the 'mindset' after a while.
