Is the lack of hobbies a major turn off for women?
>>

yes. Having something you are passionate about is the single biggest turn on for women. It's the most common thing they will list when listing attributes they desire in a boyfriend.
>>
>>17816369
Is being passionate about porn enough?
>>
>>17816367
Not having any passions is pretty much the worst flaw you can have sans being a rapist/murderer. You could be a dumb, abusive asshole but at least interesting due your hobbies and passions.
>>
>>17816371
>tfw actually very passionate about editing porn and actively trying to work at a production house.
>>
>tfw no passion
>>
So what's considered a hobby? Mostly I spend my free time working out or on the internet, sometimes play vidya.
>>
>>17816395
Anything you take pleasure in outside of working is a hobby. How "legitimate" your hobbies are is up to you. So people bird watch. That shit is boring
>>
>>17816367
If the women don't have any hobbies they can't complain
>>
>>17816387
That's a respectable passion. Please make sure here will be fewer close up male butt scenes.

Going by wiki categories ...

>a. Casual leisure is intrinsically rewarding, short-lived, pleasurable activity requiring little or no preparation
>b. Serious leisure is the systematic pursuit of an amateur, hobbyist, or volunteer that is substantial, rewarding and results in a sense of accomplishment.
>c. Project-based leisure is a short-term often a one-off project that is rewarding.

Only B and C sound like actual worthwhile hobbies. A is basically dumb shit like playing vidya or doing drugs with no real benefit but pleasure.
>>
>>17816406
Hmm I guess lifting weights would be considered B, but honestly I'm not that serious about it. I guess most of my hobbies are A...
>>
>>17816411
Well, lifting is pretty systematic if you're somewhat serious about it and got benefits beyond the fun. Sounds like a solid B.
>>
>>17816406

I need examples of B and C, anon.

All of my hobbies are A. These kinds of hobbies hobbies are not very rewarding in the long run.
>>
>>17816565
Basically all the artsy shit be it music, writing or panting and otherwise long term activities where you create something (can be fucking furniture) or gain knowledge (hence reading is pretty decent even though it's mostly A). If you do it while learning other skills, even better, say programming when you wanted to make some app or a game or fixing electronics or learning languages or astronomy. Hell, I even remember a guy who is obsessed by weather. Cooking is probably the most basic example.

In case of lifting and other sports, the "creation" is basically your gainz, or what you achieve with your sports team, or climbing some shitty mountain.

It's likely that your A hobbies got closely related B/C counterparts unless the range is very limited.
>>
>>17816589

Okay, you could say I have a category B hobbie, which is programming.

The thing is that I work 9 to 5 as a developer, which means that if I spent more time on my B hobbie I would end up doing the same thing all day long. And that feels kinda sad...

Also, what if the initial preparation required for other B hobbies turn me off?
>>
>>17816621
Well, a personal project or contributing to open sores tends to feel better than a job but you're right, it'd be still doing practically the same, besides too rape-y for your back; so I'd rather pick something more active or at least something where you don't have to sit for balance alone.

>what if the initial preparation required for other B hobbies turn me off?
That's given, it's a pain to start something new unless you're totally crazy about the thing and can be overwhelming. Though it's not always that much either and it's not like you have to go all out from the start.

Say it's photography, you could begin with a phone cam just fine and if you start to like the shit, actually learn all the theory and eventually upgrade to some hipster SLR camera. If it's something sports related, you don't necessary need to join a gym and can just buy shoes for jogging.

Depends a lot on what you have in mind.
>>
I think it depends on what's normal to the woman involved. Plenty of people just work their job or go to college and relax with drinking and vidya, tv, porn, internet or social activities.

Personally I think what people usually mean when they say don't be boring or be passionate is more about a certain attitude in life and level of energy, curiosity etc. You can not have any given hobby-hobby (like a sport) but a broad variety of interests.
Hobbies can be an expression of zest for life but you can be a passionate person without having them and you can have hobbies and be a stick in the mud.

Personally I would not care much about a guy without intense hobbies (as long as he's also not crazy about videogames) but I would about lack of interests, lack of enthusiasm/general passion.
A lot of the guys on here have this sort of defensive attitude like all they want is to jerk off in peace and get laid every now and then and that's a huge turn off. Being passionate is not just about how you spend your free time (especially if it's limited) but how you relate to the people in your life, how ambitious you are about the kind of person you want to be(come)...
