You're better off learning Oracle or SQL Server

Download Vmware or Virtualbox and install Oracle on a Linux VM and learn through that, or if you'r learning SQL Server, just download whatever free version is out there

I'd also recommend looking at a noSQL DB as well like Mongo and also take a look at Hadoop. It's good to know one RDBMS pretty well and study these technologies as well

The free RDMBS platforms like MySQL and postgres are worth looking at as well. Some companies use them, others laugh at them and would rather get dicked by companies like Oracle or MS and stay an Oracle/MS/IBM/Sybase shop
