I NEVER feel hungry, can this be anything other than cancer?
I am a 25 year old male, I've searched the internet high and low but there doesn't seem to be any reassurance out there for me. I lost my appetite seeminly over night about 3 months ago. Over that time I have seen 4 different doctors and they have presribed various things like laxatives and acid reflux as I have also had mild digestive complaints on and off. None of these have had boosted my appetite though. I still enjoy eating and do so to keep my energy levels up, but I never actually get hungry and sometimes I get bloated after meals. I also had a colonscopy (I requested it) to rule out colon cancer and it was all clear so the doctor just gave me anti-anxiety meds assuming my lack of appetite was psychological. Only thing is I'm convinced it's not and have seen another doctor who I persuaded to give me an ultrasound. Doctor doesn't seem too worried though and just seemed to imply I'm a hypochondriac.
Assuming I am right about the lack of appetite being physical, can it really be anything else but cancer? I'm convinced what I am experiencing now is cachexia, or wasting from late stage cancer. I can't help but think it's pancreatic cancer with liver mets as I also have digestive complaints (have even had floating stools for a while now), I initially considered this just to excedingly rare in people my age but my symptoms just seem textbook cancer. All in all just can't really believe this is happening and I'm terrified about the ultrasound

I DONT WANT TO FUCKING DIE

Well, I don't have a solution, but I do have the same thing as you P, for like a year and a half. I just have to remind myself to eat most days. I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's only a minor inconvenience and pretty helpful when you want to lose weight. If it is due to some underlying condition, I guess I'll figure that out at some point. Have you seen a neurologist yet? That us the last relevant specialist for me to see.
>>
>>17804416
you NEVER feel hungry? are you sure?
did this come on suddenly or have you always been like this?
>>
>>17804420
I get pains in my stomach if I forget to eat, but I don't really ever get hungry like I used to. It started like a year and a half ago. It could have started earlier, I suppose, and I just never noticed, but one day I got stabbing pains in my gut and my hands were super shaky and I realized I hadn't eaten in like 3 days (was super busy in school and working). It's really weird because I can remember what it feels like to be hungry, but I never get the same feeling.
>>
>>17804433
any other symptoms?
>>
>>17804438
I don't think so. I have pretty irregular bowel movements, but that's probably due to my poor diet and infrequent eating. I get headaches most every day, but I don't know if it's related either.
>>
>>17804401
You have seem numerous doctors who ALL gave you the all clear. If you had late stage cancer it would mean it has metastasized to other organs - meaning you'd have very severe symptoms not just related to your GI tract.

The mind is an amazing thing. I'd wager your lack of appetite is anxiety related. Take the anxiety meds that were prescribed to you.

>I get headaches most every day, but I don't know if it's related either.
Of course its related, its most likely due to a combination of stress and not eating enough. That also explains your weight loss.
>>
>>17804451
that havn't necessarily given me the all clear they can just see that i'm not exactly feeling terrible yet and am young so cancer is unlikely, but cancer can be insidious nature and you can decline quickly. people can be stage IV and feel ok. for me lack of appetite is a redflag symptom

i've been on the anti-anxiety meds for like a week already and still don't get hungry

i think im fucked unless theres something else weird going on

headache person wasnt me
>>
>>17804472
Have you had blood work done? As I said 4 doctors saw no reason for concern so you should feel somewhat at ease. Its a vicious cycle, you worry -> lose your apetite -> worry about losing your apetite -> worry more. What type of anxiety meds did your doctor prescribe?

>people can be stage IV and feel ok
Extremely rare
>>
>>17804479
i've had basic ones done

doctors hardly ever see cause for concern unless if you're young
>>
>>17804497
Doctors know a lot more than you give them credit for. The chance of you having late stage cancer are extremely slim, after its been essential ruled out by 4 doctors + blood work + a colonoscopy.
>>
>>17804502
i hope youre right

i just feel like something is horribly wrong
>>
>>17804401
Similar situation OP, but a lot more sad
Erectile dysfunction, 22 years old, i'm pretty sure its physical but I can't find the cause, already got to the docs, did bloodwork tests, googled a ton, no help, i'll probably end up commiting sudoku

>>17804516
The power of the mind is amazing. Please seek help as anxiety is obviously an issue for you. I'd recommend asking your doctor for a mild benzo prescription

>>17804546
Mental once again. Have you tried viagra?
>>
>>17804577
ive been on mirtazepan for a week

still dont get hungry
>>
>>17804594
The drug you were put on takes awhile to work, 1-2 weeks. As I said a mild benzo is what I'd recommend because its almost instant anxiety relief (within a few hours).

I have personal experience with the class of drugs you are taking and I found them useless.
>>
>>17804608
ive taken benzos in the period ive had no appeteite

i still dont get hungry

im dying
>>
>>17804624
Seek mental help, see a psychiatrist.
>>
>>17804635
please explain? that clearly implies a physical problem rather than a mental one, if ive taken drugs and the symptoms you're claiming are psycho havn't relieved themselves
>>
>>17804640
Somatic mental issues are very complicated. The fact you have had numerous doctors check you out and have had intrusive diagnostic tests almost completely rules out anything sinister. I'd wager a lot of money on you not having cancer.
>>
>>17804472
>people can be stage IV and feel ok.
Not very likely and easy to locate with medical investigation.

You are anorexic. Your other symptoms are related to the fact that you are not eating.

Go and live your life. Eat more regularly, even just a little protein every few hours, egg, cheese, turkey, etc.
>>
>>17804648
i've only had a camera up my ass

not full body scan

>>17804654
i weigh 160lbs. im not anorexic
>>
>>17804659
You've had blood work done which tells doctors A LOT. As I said I'd wager a lot of money on it being mental. See a psychiatrist, visit a mental hospital for help.
>>
>>17804666
cancer only flags up in blood work sometimes

depends what they tested for also
>>
You are that faggot from /sci/.

We already told you. You are just a fucking massive hypocondriac. Get help already.
>>
>>17804741
nope

im getting epigastric pains atm too

along with the total lack of hunger, i know this isn't all in my head. am just wondering if this could possibly be caused by anything other than cancer
>>
>>17804726
I know that.., I'm a med student. Given that the doctor/s ordered blood work they would have 'tested' for specific things.

>>17804764
I feel like you like having this. Its pretty obvious the chance of this being cancer is extremely slim - let alone late stage cancer.

>am just wondering if this could possibly be caused by anything other than cancer
Possible but most likely mental. As I said the mind is an amazing organ. After a close family member died I felt like I had lost muscle tone in my legs and was constantly nauseous as if I had a bad gastro virus. After taking anti-anxiety meds for a little bit it instantly went away and never came back.
>>
>>17804577
>Mental once again. Have you tried viagra?
It helps, but still I eventualy lose my erection mid penetration

I took finasteride 2 years ago for a few months(hair loss drug that mess with your test levels) and although its very rare, some people have symptons very similar to what i feel and they claim the drug is the cause, even after discontinuation
