I dropped out of college because I hated it and realized that I chose a wrong course. I always had an interest in military stuff and at one point I almost enlisted. They accept enlisting in April and serving time is 9 months.
So is joining the military a bad choice? I think I would like it, even though it's gonna be really hard, of course.

Before GRU goes to work on you.

What's GRU? Why?

I wouldn't worry about it.

Kind of, except more like

I don't understand

What do you hope to get out of being a soldier? What were your doubts in the past? Why can't you choose a different course in college?

I hope to earn some money, find new friends, become physically and mentally tougher, learn discipline, new skills, self defense, respect.
I didn't have any doubts (except that I was a wimp back then) I couldn't enlist because I was still in school and my future plans were based around college.
I can, but only next year. And right now I still don't know what course I want to study.
Also, military serving is now necessary in my country, so sooner or later I will need to serve. Right now I have lots of free time, so why not do it?

Does it really only last 9 months?
If you don't know which course to study, joining the military will probably not help. Why don't you try out some different lectures?
All of those things you listed can be accomplished outside of the military, and in a better way. The military (esp. 9 months) isn't going to fundamentally change you, you still have to do that.
The reason not to do it is that there are better things to do without the need for you to obligate yourself to someone else. This could create a habit of depending on others to tell you what to do and how to do it. Take this time as an opportunity, not as a failure or wrong.
That said, obviously the military, like any field, gives you the possibility to excel. I am only concerned that it is too easy to coast by in the military without giving actual effort.
