I posted a few days ago about this but I wanna learn how to box. I am buying a weighted punching bag for black friday and would like to know some good workouts to start training. It won't come in for about a week so I wanna start things at home first if possible.
You probably wanna get your core ready for getting punched. Core workouts.

There is only one thing that makes boxing god-tier, and that's slipping. If you don't spar, you don't box.

Got any good core workout ideas? I have a pretty decent core right now but not good enough to take hits honestly.
It's better if you take a class for this. Boxing is usually also on the cheaper side of martial arts.
I've done judo for 2 years and a few months of muay thai. With just a heavy bag you can get a solid workout, but you won't actually be able to fight well unless you have practice with another guy trying to bop your nose.

I won't have a chance to spar yet, I wanna just learn the basic movements and build up endurance first before I try and go to a boxing gym or something. I have no boxing classes in my area only trainers that cost too much. I wanna learn this as a hobby not as a big sport

yeah I know, but I have no classes in my area, only kick boxing for some reason lol

I'm a pitcher in college so I take pride in my core. I do the day 1 one day, then day 2 the next day, basically everyday. You should probably Google "good core workouts for boxing" or something but this is just food for thought

Russian twists and rotator crunches are the same thing by the way

oh thats pretty cool, yeah I'll look into boxing core workouts and stuff, I can't imagine it'll be that different from your workouts though, core is core after all

I like this guy - watched like 2 videos years ago, but I think he knows his shit:

I can do crunches for literally an hour straight and hold L-sits, but this fucks me up.

When I went to the gym a few months ago I could do some decent core, I did planks for 1 minute 3 sets, I did something along the lines of the russian twist but on an incline bench doing a sit up after twisting, some little things here adn there but I lost some core strength after I stopped going to the gym.

Planks @ 3 x 1 min isn't bad at all if you are doing them right.

yeah I had my friend do it with me, he knew his shit and pushed me for that minute even though I wanted to die half way in but didn't wanna give up.
