Could you do this depression test to see the average results? I'm not sure if depressed or not or if this test is just weighted.

If yes, what do?
Don't want to talk to somebody about it, don't want to drag them in on this whole ordeal, but I've been feeling down lately

it even says on the site that only a medical professional can diagnose depression properly and that this test is not for this purpose.
there is no reason to think you would drag a therapist into this, its his job.
if you think you might have depression ask a psychologist to diagnose you.
Major Depression: Very Slight
Dysthymia: Slight-Moderate
Bipolar Disorder: Slight
Cyclothymia: Slight
Seasonal Affective Disorder: High-Moderate
Postpartum Depression: N/A
These tests are equivalent to Tumblr astrology charts. See a real doctor.
>>17772460
If say it is somewhat accurate but a little exaggerated.
>>17772465
It's about as accurate as Hitler's predictions of a quick war in Russia in 1941.
>>17772512
It does but for some jobs you might get refused for having it.
I talked with a psychologist last year who told me that I didn't have a mental illness (don't know if depression counts for a mental illness though). From my own point of view I wouldn't be surprised to find out that I'm depressed or something so I think the results are correct
>>17772522
depression the emotion you experience when your girl breaks up with you is not a mental illness
depression the mood state which lasts for months/years at a time and leaves you buried under your own anhedonia is a mental illness
oftentimes psychologists can tell whether or not you're in the former or the later by sheer body language. depressed people have very distinct body language cues they give off.

like most online tests, its very flawed.
every question might as well be
>Do you think you're depressed?
>do you want to be depressed?
if you're seriously concerned, go see a therapist. not for a diagnosis, but for treatment regardless of what the 'term' might be.
>>17772390
i now have moderate bi polar disorder because i experience regular changes in happy and sad based on whats actually fucking happening.
these tests dont allow for rationalization. every question brings you one step closer to a disorder.
'very slight' basically means none at all.
'slight' means 'you're more sensitive to most people'.
>'slight-moderate' basically means you're having a bad day
tahts all it is mate.,

>Do you think that sadness and disappointment are a regular part of life,
yes
>and that "happy" people are only deceiving themselves?
no
>
How would you describe your mood over the past several months?
>A rollercoaster
>A long, dark tunnel
>A bumpy road
>A smooth ride
rollercoasters are fucking fun
long dark tunnels are cool and spooky
bumby roads are an annoyance
smooth rides are boring and expected
>What is your least-favorite season?
I hate summer because my electric bill jumps from $100 to $300, makes my car hot as fuck, and makes people irritable in general
Winter is smooth sailing
how the fuck Am i supposed to answers these questions?!
though I can easily tell which answers are the "right" ones
>seasonal depression high-moderate
>I live at Southern Hemisphere
I just hate summer, that's all. But the rest is quite relatable.
>>17773322
Most people - in general - have some amount of seasonality to their mood even if they don't qualify for a mood disorder per say.

Re-firming what I already knew.
Going on 10 years here. If you want to know what it's like, or what it's like knowing you will never be happy in your life do to some fucked off chemical unbalance and accepting that, ask away.
What do?
I have been pretty sad lately and in all honesty bud I don't think that /adv/ would be a good sample group. We're all depressed fucks here.
If you think you might be depressed, seek a therapist.
Ehh, i already knew i was bad off, so this doesnt scare me.
>fights demons in body
I've faced this for years, i'm desensitized, immune even!
>constant numb, buzzing feeling

listening to music, shrinking as the music artist bereates me, tells me im pathetic
>curls up

>Drunk, looking at knife

>Staring at knife, sharpening while looking
These lines will fade with time, you cant go through life without scars!
>shotgun in the peripheral, pleading to cycle

I find it really weird that I don't accept the kind of scoring the test gave me, even though I know I'm depressed to a certain extent. I think I'm alright in my own words, but sometimes I think my self esteem fucks with my perception concerning the severity of my depression, like I'm allowing myself to exaggerate how insignificant it is. But, hey, I say I'm probably better off living in denial of it.
Anon with disabilities and ptsd it is accurate I think. But everyone is different if you have been feeling under the weather look into your diet and see if anything you have been eating may be affecting you negavitily food greatly affects us.
As well now that is winter make sure to take oil of oregno for immunity, vitamin D and C. Also make sure to drink lots of water doing these things help a lot. Try setting daily small goals and make sure to try and set time aside daily for a relax time.Try volunteering at an old age home it is quiet and will help you get the interaction you need plus when you help others it helps how you overall feel.
Fucking hell, anons, y'all are fucked up. You need some chinese cartoons in your life.

You almost beat me.
Almost.
The test doesn't really ask enough questions, nor does it have enough thought put into it's questions.

Dysthymia: Very High
Bipolar Disorder: Slight-Moderate
Cyclothymia: Moderate

Postpartum Depression: N/A
