If you're dancing alone you're gonna look like an idiot unless you can dance really well. Otherwise just go with a group of friends, make a circle or some shit and dance your heart out regardless how dumb it is.

Like any other skill, look it up and practice it.

Confidence is 90% of dancing, but the other 10% is knowing what moves are actually acceptable.

Numerous times I've danced my ass off, been approached by girls, and rejected advances to keep dancing.

You really have to like doing it. It's an expression of self'; people who use it as a mating ritual are fucking cluelesss.

Basics are just move with the beat and don't make any weird dance moves.

You have to do it a few times to get used to it, best way is just to drink a lot with a group of friends.

The main thing to remember is no one is really watching you and most people cant dance either.
