spend less on food and drive less. I don't know what your bills, but water, electricity, ... can be cut back on. at the end of the week or after a pay check, put aside some money to limit what you consider available funds. like take 20 dollars and put it in your desk drawer every week

its hard for young people to really save money these days, at least in my experience. mostly because were already living pretty bare bones.

until my recent job my only expenses were

and there wasn't much i could do to cut back on that. you CAN however do something like room share. or if you have a living room,r ent that out.

basically whatever space you have, try and pack another person in.

food wise, buy bulk.
40 pounds of chicken cost 40 dollars here in los fucking angeles. 5 pound bag of carrots is 3 bucks.

be smart about your purchases. it gets bland but you'll save money.

Treat savings as one of your bills. Every payday you put aside this much for rent and that much for car payment and this much for savings - and then you make what's left cover food and gas and other variables. And if that means there's a little less for the others, so be it.

I got an app on my phone and list every expense I get. At the end of the month I can easily see where I could save more.

Don't buy already made food, cook for yourself. Kebabs, burgers, pizzas in restaurants... and their drinks, oh god. 3€ for 0,3 of Coke. Just pass.
