At no point. The concepts of good and evil are created by humans, they only apply to us and they're purely subjective. Objectively, there is no good or evil in the universe. What to you may look like an irredeemably horrible person to someone else may seem a normal, well-adjusted individual. Any line we cross is subjective, arbitrary and pointless.

For me it'd be the basic stuff like violent rape and killing someone (unless it was absolutely, un-fucking-avoidable selfdefense. (Tyrone breaking in your house isn't self defense unless he's armed) A big factor is also the reasoning. Say you rape a drunk girl or kill a family while drunk driving, and then either own up to it or try to justify the shit.

Ordering murder a la Hitler works too.

On a side note, I think it's funny a lot of people point to murder as the ultimate evil. No one lives forever, and there's a lot of ways to make someone suffer in this world. I personally think torturing someone indefinitely is worse than killing them.

Based on my own interpretations on what a "horrible person" is, I would say the line is crossed when they actively and knowingly seek to hurt other sentient beings, either physically or emotionally without reasonable cause. In this case reasonable cause is another subjective category but I think most would agree self defence or to stop another "horrible person" of continuing to hurt others is fair enough cause so in these cases they would be forgiven of the "horrible person" title.

By murder your permanently take away something rather long lasting (for human terms) which has an incredible potential. It's basically like robbing the world and the shit you stole can't be replaced. This is even before we got to the part how it tends to hurt the murdered person and everybody they knew. It takes quite a fucked up person to make the choice to do it.

For the victim alone, sure but overall it's closer to rape. Temporary damage with potential to harm a person permanently.
