I will try to make this as short as possible.

So i'm currently 19 years old and want to become successful in life.
Success for me is earning lots of money and living a happy life with my future wife that will love me, and i will love her.

My main question is, how do i get to this point?

Also another question, are playing games for entertainment fucking retarded? Right now i want to begin playing Starcraft II and i will obviously not get pro in that game. Should i start playing it because it might be fun or should i just don't bother wasting 100's or 1000's of hours. Right now all i do in my spare time is sitting home browsing 4chan, reddit, watching latest Youtube videos of my subs, skyping and playing Rainbow Six Siege with my friend. I feel like i should do something else with my time, like living my life or something? Remember i'm 19 years, aren't the 20's the time where everyone is "Living their lives"?

I also want to learn Korean, how hard will it be to learn this on my own?
If you are wondering the reason to learn the language this is the following: Kpop, Kdramas, interesting culture, Korean E-sports are great. Might want to move to Korea in the future? I guess i should start learning the language instead of doing what the paragraph above is about.

Last question: On the part about earning lots of money, i currently saved up 20K USD. What are some smart things i can do with this money to make more? I have no idea how investing works.

Please help me, any answer is appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you, OP. Currently studying computer engineering and have recently started seeing a therapist for my depression

If you want money, you need skills.
If you want skills, you need education.
Think about what interests you or what you're already kind of good at, and go into that. Don't be afraid to consider things like plumbing, electricians, carpentry, etc because nobody goes into those fields anymore because LE 4 YEAR DEGREE MEME XDDDD and they pay really fucking well as a result. REALLY well.

>I also want to learn Korean, how hard will it be to learn this on my own?
Very difficult. There are very few resources to learn Korean online, and you'll have limited feedback on your grammar and pronunciation.
Using Rosetta Stone, Pimsleur, and picking up a copy of Integrated Korean: Beginning 1 will be a good place to start though.
The two hardest parts of Korean are learning to read their writing system rapidly, and getting used to a SOV word order.

In no particular order:

Spend your money on your education, or save it for now, until you have more direction in life.

At 19, you still have to figure out what kind of an adult you will become- this will come about through mostly difficult experiences. Accept that. Growing up is hard.

Playing games is fun- I am a ship's captain, and we have decent consoles and PC's set up for gaming. I'm in my 40's, the chief engineer is 53, and ages range down to 22 from there. We all play- but we work first, and that's an important distinction. When playing games takes time away or distracts you from meaningful pursuits, it's a REAL problem.
"That 'living their lives' thing- in my 20's, I was pumping gas, working as a commercial fisherman and going to university. I lost most of that time, and my friends were living it up. 20 years later, they're paying for all that time they weren't busting their ass. You can choose to pay your dues now or later, but they will be paid, and there's interest to consider.
I told a guy in another thread that the best way to succeed in life is to work hard and build your life into something that you can be proud of, and surround yourself with only people who love you- that means family and just a few very close friends.
Develop your mind and spirit- pay attention to matters of faith and developing your intellect. Never work less than 60-90 hours a week unless you need to slow down for vacations or something of greater value than cash, which does not include your leisure time.
Marriage is a greater challenge than any of these things. There's also the potential for greater reward. In building yourself and your life into something greater, you'll also learn how to be a better person, hopefully, and that will help in marriage, too. Dynamic people attract like-minded people, OP. Remember that. Success breeds confidence, and women respond to that too. Not just in terms of work, either. Be a wonderful person.

You are surely not going to be successful if you post this thread every day, instead of posting your progress here every day.
So what is your progress?
You've been posting this for days, you ought to have had some time to do something about this success of yours.

You are in you'r 40's so you have good grip on what life is. Tell me, how fast does 20-30 feel like? I bet its going to go real fucking fast.
>>
>>17740351
It moves in fits and starts! Overall, it seems like the years pass by faster and faster, but during tough times, it does seem to drag on. I didn't notice it until somewhere around 30, myself.
I'm starting to slow down a little- I've achieved my big goals, and have set newer ones, and that seems to make time go by faster.
More than anything else, when I see a picture of my sons when they were small, and see them today, that really makes it seem like time has flown by.

Typing fast will make writing papers easier but other than that not really.
Also are you actually "really good at using computers" or are you just one step above your mother?
I teach a CS and a Cisco Networking class while I finish my degree and I see WAY too many people who "are good at computers" that really have no business being there

This, for the love of sweet God.

I only mention it because those students I mentioned only went into these classes because they really thought they were hot shit
And they without exception do the worst of the entire class

If it's a subject that genuinely interests you, absolutely go for it. But remember to stay humble about it.
