I need to get this fucking 750 out of my PC. I found a 970 on craigslist for $150 and a 780 ti for $125.
I read that Nvidia fucked Keplar cards, but my friend has a 680 and says that he's been getting pretty good driver support.
Based on what I've seen the 780 ti has more raw power but the 970 is more polished. I really don't plan on overclocking either of them, at least not right away since I'm buying used.
I'm pretty torn between the two, what do you guys think?

Got the 970 (not EVGA) in my rig. So far nothing it can't run at high settings. Will eventually happen ofc but I'll worry about that then
A 1060 would be better than the 970. The 780ti is obsolete.

Pretty sure the performance is actually VERY similar. At the same time 970 will get longer driver support, actually drivers optimized for it and consumes much lesser power. The only issue is the meme 3,5GB vRAM but it's pretty damn fine for mid class cards.

If you can jew either of them down $20 bucks, its worth it. Otherwise, not so much since they're used.

1060/1070 or rx 480 would be better than both cards and more energy efficient.
It's worth spending the extra 50 dollars and getting at least a 1060
Also, this isn't as much of a problem with GPUs, but buying used always leaves a greater risk of malfunction without the possibility of either a store warranty or manufacturer warranty.

also between the two, go for the 970 if you don't want to buy one of the newer cards.
