Skinned my knees a week ago because my gym has cement floors :/. Noticed this shit on one knee a day or two ago. Sensitive, full of (probably) pus. Thinking I should bust it in the shower, clean it, sanitize it and bandage it.
Is this the right approach or should I leave it alone?
Go to the doctor?
Oh wait, you're American!
It is the right approach. Keep it clean even some days afterwards, until it closes (i.e. no bacteria an get in)
In case you have fever go to the dotcor, as that would be septicemia.

>Go to the doctor, dumb American!
Remember when you got your first knee scrape and you panicked asking yourself what it could possibly be while rushing to the doctor? Yeah, me neither.

>implying people shouldn't be able to access basic, santisized care instead of risking horrible infections from clearing abscesses out yourself
Onto OP, you have the right idea, just make sure everything you use is clean. Preferably whatever you use to open the abscess (if it is one) is santisized.
Make sure you drain it as well as you can if it is pus (the smell will tell you) but don't hurt yourself, be careful about having a bandage on it- you want room for the wound to air, you can also just achieve that by sitting around an hour or so before re-bandaging.

Thanks. I was considering leaving it unbandaged overnight (maybe with neosporin?) and then covering it up so my pants don't agitate it during work tomorrow.
