OP I was arrested at 21 for armed cocaine trafficking and all types of distribution and gun charges and some xanax and marijuana charges to top it all off. First offense

I was looking at Life in prison. But after pleading no contest and kissing the judges ass I got 3 years in prison with 2 years probation. I ended up spending 5 but that's not the point. The point is that with my charges I should have been spending at least 10-15 years. But being a first time offender helps things a lot with you. Just explain to them your desperation and hope that they take it easy on you.

Also for fraud you won't go to a REAL bad prison. I was sent to state with a bunch of other "violent" offenders.

When they arrest you, you will probably be kept for a couple days in county where you will await a hearing. The judge looks at an overview of the case against you and decides if you are a flight risk, dangerous, or if he just doesn't like your face.

If he grants you bail, he will set the amount. You will have to front the money, or get a bail loan, they will help you find a guy dont worry. If you show up to court when you are supposed to, and you continue to cooperate with law enforcement then the money goes back to you or the bail bond place. You will probably owe interest if you borrow. If you fuck it up then the court will keep the money and you are in deep shit.

Pretty much. County is not that bad as far as jails go because a good number of people there are transient or awaiting hearings or trials. People tend to keep to themselves and not cause too much trouble because their situation gets considerably shittier if they don't cooperate. Plus the guards in county don't fuck around and they shut shit down quickly and violently.
