I'm depressed and keep giving up.

which methods have you tried?

Mostly to do list apps, I guess.

What kinds of good habits are you trying to build? Do you try one at a time or do you try a whole lifestyle change at once?

Something that helped me on occasion was the thought "I am unable to stick to my plan (or goal) because my ego is too strong, not too weak". A weak ego will listen to what past you, or sober you, set out for it to do. A strong ego does what it wants when it wants to.

When I'm depressed I just want to be in bed always. Or like I'll sit and watch the news for hours even though it's so repetitive.

I need to clean, do homework, and make sure I get to the gym.

It sounds like you just need to leave your living space, so that you are away from beds and televisions.

I have similar problems. I haven't had much stable success, but I think the best way to motivate yourself is to understand why you want those goals. Not just "I want to be healthier" or "I want to watch less TV"; find whatever the deep-down goal is and think about it for a solid day, preferably while testing out the effects of pursuing the goal.

Beds are a trap. Try sleeping in a less comfortable place, for example by sitting or laying on the floor. The best thing you can do in the morning is get out of bed immediately on waking, as if the house was on fire or something.

And remember that both progress and regress build on themselves. If you get out of bed on time, the rest comes more easily. If you stay in bed, the rest becomes more difficult.

Also kill your tv

Just don't think about them. Do it almost unconsciously.

Giving up has nothing to do with your depression, you give up because you don't see yourself as a person of value who deserves the best. When you learn to value yourself, you'll want to look and feel as healthy as you can, and good habits will follow.

Building good habits is suprisingly easy, and can be a lot of fun. Let me show you my PJP method as a great example:

Start by jerking off to cartoons. Try and do it 3 or 4 times a day at first. Space them out throughout the day, rather than jerking it to cartoons all in one session.

It should be pretty easy to do this for 2 weeks straight, as the pleasure of orgasm reinforces your habit. Over the two weeks, try and build up to 7 or 8 times a day.

Next, slowly replace jerking it to cartoons with other habits you would like to pick up. Would you like to read? Jerk off to books once a day instead of cartoons. Just start slowly replacing your habit with the good habit you would like to pick up, until you're jerking off while reading/singing/eating/brushing your teeth an amount that you're happy with. Over 2 weeks, the habit will be behaviorally ingrained into your day. You won't even need to jerk off while doing it, and can use your PJP's (pavlovian jerkoff points) on a new habit.

If you would like to pick up a habit that requires both hands, jerk off immediately AFTER that activity, and jerk off to cartoons related to that activity to reinforce the link. Want to trampoline 3 times a week? You'll need trampoline cartoon porn. Don't worry if your habit is esoteric, I'm sure there's cartoon porn of it on the internet somewhere.

Good luck anon, I'm sure you'll find effortless success beyond your wildest dreams if you just try my one simple #lifehack
