First of all I want to start by saying I don't think I drink a ton. Usually a beer a day, ocassionly I drink more, just some whiskey usually. Lately at night though around 7 pm I get these bad headaches that usually end up with me drinking a bit to stop the pain, which works pretty effectively. Is this pretty much what addiction looks like?
Take aspirin instead. if it still hurts, you're physically dependent on alcohol.

I'll try that. Well shit though, I've just been really depressed lately guess I started going over my limit lately without realizing it. If it turns out I am to I want to taper off or try to quit cold turkey for a while.
reformed alcoholic here, as in a sixer a night and weekend binge drinking on everclear. if you start getting the shakes, hear or see hallucinations, exhibit extreme anxiety among other horrible things, you're probably just suffering from something else. i'm no doctor, but i am aware that addiction can take many forms. just stop drinking that one beer for a week and dont drink on the weekend, see how you feel then. physical dependence can manifest in different ways and sure a headache is one, but a beer a night is not going to get you there. take it easy.
No.
I used to drink an entire fifth a day and I'd take three day breaks every now and then and I never got any kind of headaches.
I got insane cravings, but no headaches.

sorry, long day at work today. unless you start getting the shakes etc, not "if you start." you're fine op. true alcohlism will destroy otherwise good people. just cut back if you're worried.

Alright thanks guys. I'm not getting shakes or anything like that and I'm taking medications that could possibly be causing the headaches as well. I thought the systems were not severe enough it's just weird it's always in the evening this damn headache hits me
