Generally its implied if it's just the two of you. However, if there has been no prior flirting or anything like that you can use the word date to make your intentions clear to her.

When we last talked she did smile a bit, did laugh a bit, and I saw her doing that finger twirling hair thing

We weren't all over eachother and there wasn't really any flirting but we did casually talk about shit like some guy she knew in middle school making a clay dick in art class and throwing it at her and I said she should have made a clay "other one" and thrown it at him lol, I also made water sports jokes to fuck with her and she got all squeamish about it lol don't know if that's relevant but it happened
