Is smoking cigs making me vocally tone deaf?
Ive been told I can sing by many people in my life.. been involved in vocal events in my community etc. Ive been hearing my voice recently and I cant tell if its just because I am vocally weak or if its as bad as becoming totally tone deaf. Opinions?
you probably just suck at singing, most people do
>does smoking affect singing
what a retarded question

It's not gonna make you tone deaf, since as pointed out that's related to hearing (but also a mental thing that you've presumably learned over time)
It is going to affect how much air you have to expel to hit notes, and it will affect the timbrel qualities of your voice. So if you're not in tune, maybe it's because the energy you're used to putting in to singing is no longer enough. In any case, you need some more practice.
No a lot of musicians smoke and are fine
