Whatever you do, don't let your mom go in with you.
Have your mom be your driver, and while she drives you around, look for places to leave a resume. If you're not picky, go anywhere there's businesses, like industrial parks. Be sure and look on your phone up any business you see so you know a little bit about them before you go in.
The most important things are to be in the right place at the right time, have a good resume, and make a good first impression. (Your mom following you in makes a terrible first impression.)
