Hey there /adv/, I hope you guys can enlight me on how I'm supposed to act with my new gf and her family.
I'm 21 y/o, currently in the same law school as my gf. Difference is, I have partial scholarship and don't pay the full monthly fees to study there. She does. Not only she does, she lives by herself in the best neighboorhood of our city, she has her dad credit card and is free to spend with whatever she desires whenever she want to. She literally bought a R$2000 (we're brazilian) which equates to around 660 USD ear piercing last week.
I work as a finance/administrative office assistant, mon-fri regular workhours. Pretty much a wagecuck, 80% of my income goes torwards my college fees. She doesnt have a job.
I don't own a car, she does (a really nice one by the way), I ride the bus. She has more property on her name and her family lives in a small nearby town, running a hospital and the town med school. Im pretty sure they make more than 100k/month.
How should I act with her/her family considering I'm poor? Should I accept gifts, trips and the like? (it's already happening)

If they offer it, make the initial denial of saying "Oh, I couldn't make you guys pay for that", they most likely will follow up with "No, we insist", just smile, be polite and show huge appreciation for the act. Be nice, kind and helpful and you'll have nothing to worry about

Don't ask for things, but don't flat out refuse them either.

This. Only accept things when offered. And say thank you

had an ex gf that her parents started with buying dinner & drinks, then trips then her mother started buying me clothes knowing I was a struggling student but then started putting pressure on me to upgrade my place, buy a new car with their help and I said no thank you, then her father wanted me to work for them and did for a short time. They pretty much owned me and it made me begin to overlook some serious flaws in my relationship. I finally broke up with her, quit the job and moved to another city for a job after graduation. Whew was I relieved because the ex was a fucking spoiled, cheating nut.
