How does one go about addressing and overcoming insecurities?
I'm biracial, from a shitty neighbourhood and have had very few intimate relations.
I used to go out with an asian girl from a wealthy, middle class part of the country. Our relationship went up in flames because I often took issue with her comments on race, her attitudes to money and her exes/male friends. The thing is, she wasn't racist, she was actually one of the poorest people from her neighbourhood and she was completely loyal to me. I figured in the end it was, by and large, my insecurities that caused a lot of our arguments and anxieties.
I've spoken about this here before and I'm making conscious efforts to improve myself but I'd like some input to help me continue growing.

You have to figure out a way to let it go. If you're in a victim's mindset then it's easy to take every little comment as a statement about you. I wouldn't necessarily call it insecurity as much as feelings of inferiority. It might help to find some ways to improve yourself and build some confidence.
