think about it this way. the people that you've met that go right out of your head the moment that you're done talking with them. I don't want to be that person.

at the same time this conflicts with my value that fame and tranquility cannot coexist. to that end I don't wish to be famous, or even well known. I just don't want to be another face in the crowd.

even typing all this now seems so childish. but damnit it's true. you or I don't really matter in this world. in 50 years unless you've done something to really fuck up humanity no one will remember you. in 100 years no one will care that you existed.

I understand that the relief is to live my life the way that makes me happy regardless of how I will be remembered. but there's something about not being special or unique that really gets me.

like I said, it's not even about being famous, its like not being the main character, its like being an NPC.

Do you expect to be remembered by everyone you met if you had such an effect? or does it matter to whom you give off this effect? That is to say, is it important that you leave a lasting effect on a rando, or that you do so to someone you think is worth your time.

This is a really aggressive post, but I agree.

Just being yourself, and doing what you want to do already sets you apart from the crowd. Take this from someone who actually does everything in their power to be invisible to others, the fact that you live and do anything at all makes you unique. And you have to come to terms that you are very likely not going to do anything ground breaking in your life, and not many people are going to remember you aside from loved ones.

That is just how life works.

Life goes in cycles, at the end of your cycle life will fucking vaporize you, and suddenly everything you did, or wanted to do is irrelevant, and all that matters is that you acted in an honorable manner, and didn't treat others like shit.

Wanting to be unique is irrelevant. Instead, just try to be a good person.

Even identical twins are never truly identical at any point in their lives.
