yes. gender is entirely social expectations of what a man or a woman should do. or what a feminine or a masculine person should do.

sex however, is not. biological sex is your sex. you are what you are. but just because you're born with a vagina, doesn't mean you have to cook and be "girly" and like pink and what the fuck ever.

It's a meaningless question, honestly. Plato was wrong, there's no platonic ideal of "gender" or "sex" floating out there somewhere for us to cross-reference, they're just words, words that can mean different things depending on the situation, who's using them and in what context the conversation is taking place.

For a given discussion, the right thing to do is to figure out how the word is being used, or to define it explicitly so everybody's on the same page. Saying "that's not what that word means!" when the word is a linguistic abstraction is just being an asshole, and extended discussions on what the word does, in fact, mean, is essentially wanking.
