One effective way I've known people to use is vaping. Hear me out when I say it though. I'm not kidding.
My father was a smoker when I was growing up. Big time smoker. A few years back, he started vaping to try to ween himself off it. What he did was lower the nicotine int it by a small amount every few weeks until there was none left. This worked after a long while, but I would suggest either getting the juice from a trustworthy ejuice seller, or making your own. Vapor stores tend to lie and overprice things.

Just keep trying until you manage to quit. Gradually increasing the time you don't smoke worked for me. You don't smoke for a day, then for two days, then for a week, and after some time you are OK with not smoking.
