What is your dream in life, /adv/? How realistic is it?

I want to be happy and find my own importance in life.

My dream is to teach people self defence.
My current occupation is teaching the police and prison officers safety techniques.
I'm pretty much there.
I tried teaching self defence to Joe public, but most people wanted to attend belt factories like Karate clubs and get a black belt in two years, or they didn't like actually having to spar and get bruises.

If I want to give my dream job another shot, I'd need another form of income, because I wouldn't make any money doing it on my own.

I want to be part of world leading scientific research

I don't know, I'm starting college at 24.

Make at least $100k a year with a graduate degree in something. I want to be a screenwriter for TV. I want good food, a nice house, and great sex. That's the dream.

To produce music that I (and hopefully other people) are really happy with. I don't care if I get a following or make it big or anything. If I could just make tunes that I love, I'd be happy.

Be a musician who obtains sustainable income by writing songs at home. Currently in HS, studying musical things, learning instruments, so that seems kinda set but I'mean not sure how easily I'll be able to get into college and that scares me because since I'm not good at anything but music if I don't get proper education I'll be fucked

One where the first 20 years of my life weren't such a traumatic mess.

i just want a nice apartment in a major city for my cat to run around and be free in. to that end i need to be comfortably upper-middle class. society tells me i need to get married and have kids but i don't think i'd make a good father. i've got the nature part down pretty well, but the nurture was pretty wanting so i don't feel like it's a pressing concern to pass on my genes at the cost of a poor shot at taking advantage of them.

I just want to finish my bachelor's and get a half-decent job at this point. I'm 25 and college has been misery for me.

I want to be pain free, first of all. Chances aren't good for that ever happening but who knows.
Then I want to finish my studies. Maybe keep writing, possibly publish a collection of poetry, not for money, just for fun.
Workwise, I'll just manage a few rental properties around the city and in Europe, and have enough income to live comfortably at my current standard of living.
Maybe someday find someone to settle down with. I don't know.

Except the pain thing, those seem to be somewhat realistic at least.
