So I left my soul-sucking job so I could pursue more personal interests and go back to school.

I got a job as a bartender, but the company doesn't offer any health benefits.

I live in America where the healthcare system isn't exactly great from what I hear, but I do need some kind of coverage.

What options do I have exactly? Can I get Obamacare? How much would I expect to pay monthly, for reasonable coverage?

Any advice would help greatly. Thanks /adv/.

A major problem with American healthcare is that you absolutely have to have insurance, and if you don't get it through work, insurance companies charged obscene amounts for single policies.

Obamacare required insurance companies to offer individual policies for roughly the same price they charged companies.

Google "obamacare texas" but be warned that most of the sites will be openly or hiddenly ads for specific insurance companies, so compare several before choosing

Okay looked online and got directed to the marketplace. I guess there's a deadline and my coverage wouldn't start until January, but it looks as though this will be more manageable than I thought.
