First, open a savings account, and then deposit your money into it.

Your university almost guaranteed will have campus jobs available that are very flexible in hours. + employers look for extracurriculars, and even working a part time looks way better than having nothing. Part times aren't even that much time commitment, usually 6-7 hours a week.
