Do anti-depressents fix things /adv/?

They're not magical. They don't change you into a different person, and they don't (really, they shouldn't) dramatically or instantly change your mood. They're not a vaccine against sadness, basically.
Also, they're rarely very useful all by themselves--they work best when used in combination with some kind of therapy.
But, at least for me and for millions of other people, they definitely help. The effects are fairly subtle but real.

no. if they're working properly, they make it possible for you to fix things, though.

anti depressants are meant to treat a chemical imbalance in the brain. as there is no way to measure that imbalance, we have no way of knowing who is actually depressed. so a lot of it is guess work and a lot of people end up hopped on pills with weird side effects that are addictive and ultimately not much different than certain 'street drugs' and still not finding happiness.
the first thing you should do before oyu take pills is examine why you are sad, and try to treat that problem

They assist you. You have to fix things yourself OP.
I take 300mg Bupropion and have way more energy than before when i was in an episode.
I would barely go out and barely mustered the energy for cooking a meal.

This. They can make fixing things possible, which is what makes them useful as tools. But they can't do the actual fixing; that still has to come from you.
anti-depressants give you the potential to see options again. therapy jogs new ideas and also gets you to see options
I started partying hard and finally lost my virginity after I got a prescription for Celexa and Adderall but everyone's different.
