Whereas many of the posts in this bread are using race as a basis for offence. That's the difference. You can discuss race without being a racist but if you are making purely derogatory comments about an entire race then your comments are racist.

It's not like a 500lb person stating they aren't fat because someone else ways 600lbs. Asian OP here. Yeah I agree, I mean I love Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Neon Genesis and Ghibli. Those all hold up as works of art regardless of country. Kinda like Watchmen or Sandman for American comics they just work regardless of format. But when I find out someone LOVES anime. Especially white people... I just cringe a bit inside.
