Hello, /adv/. I am an 18-year-old Irishman considering training to become a Welder. Problem is, I'm 5'6" (yes, I know I'm a manlet).
Will this be a problem in the profession?
Bumping for interest.

My father was a welder for over 35 years and he's 5'4. It's fine.
Shelves will be your greatest enemy. Otherwise no, your height should not be a large hindrance in the job.

Okay, thanks guys.

It might be a plus; you can fit into smaller spaces if needed!
You can always weld yourself a stepladder if you can't reach something

Pls no bully

What matters is your welding skill, not your height faggot.

No, height isn't an issue. But do pause to think about what decades of inhaling vaporized metals might do to you.

It's legit solution tho

But I'd have one of those cool looking protective helmets, so surely the fumes wouldn't be a serious issue?

Ask a welder.
(He's going to say your height is fine.)
