There's not just one kind of rapist, there's not just one reason why it happens. Each case is different.

You say rapists "fail to control sexual desires" and you make it sound like they are so so horny, so horny they end up not guilty because of it. That's why they fail to control themselves. You are taking the guilt out of the equation for some reason. There is no such thing as a rapist that can't control sexual desires because rape is voluntary. It is an action you can control but let me talk to you about control.

Let me tell you, you are not thinking logically about this.

Rape has to do with power, sex has to do with power and lust. You are confusing these things.
You can lust after anybody but rapists want the power to control.
Every rapist is different but all rapists have something in common. They want to be in control.

That's all there is to rape. Of course you can chose a pretty person to rape, but beauty only gives you more value as a trophy. It has nothing to do with normal lust.

If it's all about control then they're just bad people... Idk. You're right that I'm not thinking logically. I thought that, since Islam and Christianity want women to cover up to not provoke men, and men should not masturbate - I concluded that rape could be prevented by being less perverted. But if It's all about control then I don't understand and can't relate, I struggled with being perverted but never felt like sexually controlling anyone (raping them) so I suppose they are more closer to being hardened criminals than perverts.

Even so I don't think being perverted is harmless to others... But I'm done sharing my opinion, I really wasn't thinking hard enough when asking this question.

Obviously. But it is a gross overgeneralization to extrapolate from these that all rapes happen for the same reason. No other crime follows such a pattern; why would this be any different?

Varies from person to person. Some might do it to put someone in their place, some just get overly horny. In africa they think raping a virgin can cure aids.

Rape is just an act. It can be done for any number of reasons.

These other Anon's are correct, there is no one single cause, and depends on a case by case basis. One may argue that there is a genetic factor in some cases, though even in these cases environmental factors tend to play the larger role (example, someone was seldom loved as a child/adult, therefore they have less moral implication to prevent them from assaulting someone in some fashion)
