I can't help you out with answers but I'll say I used to be really insecure, was in an online relationship for a year when I was sixteen or so and wouldn't cam, send pictures, or voice chat. I sent exactly one picture to my then-boyfriend in the entire time we were together. I've since gotten over it but it took a lot of work, wanting to, and a hell of a lot of reassurance without any pressuring. I did not actually get over it during the course of that relationship, but rather much later on.

If they refuse to send you a time stamped image then they're likely a man baby. If they are willing to send one, ask for a couple with different poses or something distinct that you know isn't just an average picture anyone can search. I joked with a dude once when I was low key suspicious of him I wanted a picture with time and date while he was throwing a "rock on" sign with his left hand and his right hand only extending his pinkey, middle, and thumb (his pointer and ring finger held down as best he could) all with a shoe on his head.

But before you spend even a dime on them you'll want to get a confirmed video chat with them, because even a time stamped picture could be faked.
