Basically worked on social media, or website, video content and posters. Now I do copy writing only I was told this was due to the amount needed to be done (hence why we hired her) basically someone who isn't in the office much has decided that this person with a couple months experience should do the creative stuff even though they lack experience and needed help from me and I after being here for over a year should just be a copycuck

You can talk to your manager about your role and tell them you'd like to go to back to creative videos. They probably increased your copywriting because you're really good at it, even though you don't like it, your work is probably bringing results. Because you helped out this new girl and she got the credit, of course they would focus on the social media more. More users means more money.

I would give it a month. Don't talk to this girl, don't help her (unless it directly affects you), let her do her own thing. Ask a manager if you can do some more creative work. If you helped her as much as you say you did, then she will probably lose steam and lose her position or be let go.

secondly, your boss promotes whoever the fuck they want, its not a god damn video game where you get 100 xp from 10 enemies and level up. promotions are, usually, not fair at all.
promotions are usually very politic - either your boss likes you, or he wants you in a spot that can help him get promoted or can make you solve more important problems, or a different boss from another area "steals you" cause he thinks you're good and cause he is more powerful than your previous boss, and so on.

so, again, swallow your own shit.
