It's been literally years since I've last read a book. Any advice on to keep your focus on reading and not immediately go fuck around on the internet?
Try to read outside, like in a park or somewhere, just to get into it.
Once you're in it it'll be easy, good luck !
Start small: pick a short book, and only read a little bit at a time. Like everything it takes practice. Also a book that interests you would help. For that I'd recommend reading a 'classic' that seems interesting, since you probably have not read many of them anyways.

Wouldn't that be more distracting?

This I'm like you and have a hard time starting books. But once the plot hooks you your good. Just start with popular books you think you'll like.

Well it's working pretty good for me, sometimes I just get in a bus to read no matter where it takes me !
Give it a try you got nothing to lose ;)
Just read super slowly and focus on it while you read. That's what I'm working on. It helps me understand focus better afterwards.
