I'm at the beginning of my college years lads, just taking my core classes right now.
My focus has been on Computer Science but lately I've been wondering the difference between Computer Science and Computer Programming. I know CS involves algorithms but that's as far as I know. I wanna know the type of Jobs/Activities that they each do separately.
Also enlighten me on other computer related degrees that are out there. I wanna broaden my horizon.

CS is more theoretical thinking of how to initially apply and ultilize mathematical concepts in a computer program.
Computer Programming is more practical, the actual grunt work of writing every single piece of code for a particular program.
CS focuses on the math and theory of application ie algorithms, where a programmer would take already written algorithms and apply them more specifically for an individuals need. Also flesh out the UI and operation.
So imagine a Random Number Generator. The CS guy comes up with an idea and creates an algorithm that simply generates random numbers. His job is done (though he could do programming too)
The programmer then implements that algorithm into something like a gambling site, or classroom seat chart generator and so forth.

I might do this just for the fuck of it as a side project later on in life
Get that liberal feminist pussay
Just major CS and minor CP, problem solved.
