Hey /adv/, poll time. What are you doing here?
Do you lurk? Do you shitpost? Do you genuinely try to help people? Are you a misery tourist? Do you like posting bait? How often have you asked for advice, if ever?
I usually try to give good advice. I occasionally get suckered in by bait but try to avoid it. I've asked for advice once every few months maybe; sometimes it's a real question and sometimes it's something that is not relevant to my life in particular but still a valid dilemma that someone I know is going through or maybe something I'm just curious about people's opinions on.

I'm only here to occasionally give career advice related to math or academia, which is like once in a blue moon.
From what I observe here, people who spend way too much time thinking about the opposite sex, usually find more problems than they should.

I come here to lurk and give advice when I think I have something valuable to say. I like helping people. I ignore the 3 or 4 "how do I talk to girls" threads and that shit, but I respond if someone has a specific or unique question.

I've been here a really long fucking time. I used to post on /r9k/ back when it was about gentlemen and greentext, not a gangbang of whining.
Anyways, I post a fair amount of advice because people are idiots, and occasionally come here to ask questions myself. A lot of times I get no answers, but it's probably because the questions are too specific.
This was a cathartic place to come to when I was dealing with workplace depression.
That's about all.

I don't shitpost but I am fucking rude sometimes, way more than in real life. Only if I think someone is being an idiot (which is pretty often). But yeah, I wanna help people. Or make jokes. Posting bait wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it would be, so I only did it once I think.
