How do you know if a guy likes you or you're just friends?

We met at work and it took like several months for us to start hanging out. My best friend who also works with me decided one day that we'd all be friends and then we were. She's weird like that.

Hey OP, this is the anon from earlier asking questions. I'm a teacher at a public school and had to leave my phone in my bag. First off ignore all the hate in this thread, do you boo.

Back to the fella, I'd say considering the circumstance, take things very slow and take care not to overstep any comfortability bounds for a while. Is this a guy you can see yourself being good friends with? If so, keep that in mind. Over time your social interactions will reveal whether or not he is open to you. Figuring out his sexual and romantic preferences will be important obviously, but take care not to say or do something that you would feel uncomfortable with yourself.

My friend's MtF gf once said that despite everything, she does have an advantage with guys in that she can definitely tell when they're interested in her, because she knows how she felt back from when she hadn't transitioned. I really hope you the best, and at the very least hope you have found a good and accepting buddy.

P.s. the signals he gives you will still translate. I.e., he will flirt back and such if he finds the prospect interesting or alluring.

Trust me I think there are much more important issues as well and punches should not be pulled if there's a real tangible solution. I think it's dumb, for example, that a lot of psychologists get turned off by the idea of studying trans people because they don't wanna get BBQd by keyboard warriors.

As it stands though, I think more than anything, suicides in the trans world are very high. I just think the best thing is to wither offer support or help. Since I don't know how to help them (I have no experiences being a trans person after all) I try to just be generally supportive and nice. However I have definitely gotten into heated convos with my friends MtF gf because she thinks Trans issues should be the forefront of everything, which I just think is awfully petty

I don't think l "giving up" is the right phrase, and I also agree that we shouldn't be propagating this idea that if they make a full transition that everything in their lives will be perfect. There isn't a silver bullet on this issue, so I just try to give them what I can, which is kindness and a bit of support, since I don't know how to honestly help. I'm not saying that trans people should never face facts, that's why my initial advice changed when I learned she was trans. I just think there are productive ways to help these people than telling them that they're worthless and crazy and etc.
