These shows are essentially soap operas. You're addicted to cheap "dramatic" plots like who's dating who etc. It's a pretty human response.

most guys have some girly show they watch. I enjoy buffy the vampire slayer. and i enjoyed the first two seasons of pretty little liars (before it became a soap).

as for why, who knows? we all like hot chicks, so why should watching hot chicks on TV be gay? people act like its a sin to just enjoy something that has a girl in it.
