Looking at craigslist, and there's a plethora of rooms for rent listed in my area. Some are just looking for roommates, while others seem to just be renting out a room.
Anyway, any advice on what I should look for and what I should watch out for. Quite a few of these listings have really good deals that already include internet, so I have a hard time believe they are really legit.
I hope to move out from home, but I can't really afford an apartment without finding like 3+ roommates. I figured I would just look at these rooms available for rent.

Why are you looking to move out?

Sadly, I'm 27 and still living at home. My very forgiving parents whom I could not appreciate more has allowed me to stay here. However, much like myself, they wish to see me become a bit more independent from home.
I lost my job recently, but I have a part-time position starting in a week. I'm just considering my options because I'm not feeling oh so great about staying home at this age.

Do you have anybody you would be ok renting a room with? Having someone close with you apply to share the cost of a rented room makes it dirt cheap and also provides a bit of support while also creating independence.
Like a significant other or maybe good friend.
Zillow will generally give you more reliable and less sketchy results than craigslist.
I don't know if it has a roommate function though.

Unfortunately, the few friends either I have a baby/kids, cats (I'm allergic), or out of state. I've no interest in seeking my ex-gf.
I suppose I could ask some friends to see if they have trustworthy connections.
