Come on OP, most of us drink and only a few of us are alcoholics.
And let me tell you, in rural areas where there's fuck-all to do, drinking is what young people do. All people, actually. I lived in wyoming for a year and there's only 2 forms of socialization: bars and pubs.

Are you male or female? If male, it ain't gonna happen. Only guy who's approached me in the past 6 years was gay. And the only girls were the ditzy extrovert kind, most of whom i can't fucking stand.
Seriously, meeting other introverts requires a huge amount of effort, you'll have to put it in.

If female, it's piss-easy, just sit in a bar or pub and look sad, you don't even have to drink.

There's a reason people that are approached often have no problem approaching others. If you want to get good at something you're going to need practice. Stop fucking around in your comfort zone. You're going to have to swallow your ego and realize that no one really cares what you do or say as much as you do. And the reason they don't care is because they're busing caring too much about themselves as well. Realizing this took a lot of the pressure off for me.
