I'm assuming you're a girl. Most people on here are guys. I wouldn't even know where to start telling a girl how to look older. I would say make up but that might just make you look more skanky. I would say wear a skirt like a work suit but that would just make you look more professional.

I don't mind looking young, I think I'm decently pretty and I will surely appreciate it as I grow older. My mom and my grandma look 20 years younger than they are.

Anyways. Some people might notice how friendly you are and sometimes when adults are old, worn out, they almost can tell that the friendlier you are the more naive about the planet because pretty much the older you get the more worn out your patience is.

I think smiling also might be it. I'm not sure if my advice is wrong because of the fact that I'm a guy and I think this way but smiling too much will earn you disrespect. Guys that smile a lot are just bitches usually, immature and insecure. With friends and family I'm much less kind, smiling and friendly because I feel no need to impress them positively

I surely have some level of self confidence issues.
I've been overweight growing up (until I was 10 year old - 19 year old). I was overweight but proportioned, always pretty curvy but not a landwhale. I lost weight during my first year in college, but I still have the stretch marks and I just feel like the person in the mirror isn't really me. i recently turned 26 and i intern at a hospital. i get asked if i'm some kind of junior/HS volunteer. i had a lot of "guess my age" games when i was new and no one believed me.

It's embarrassing when younger guys hit on me (and I'm talking 16, not 21), it makes me feel bad.

Alright i'll break it to you : you can't actually do shit about it. Deal with it. All the options given to you in this thread are artifices with more cons than real results. Looking excessively young can indeed be socially annoying and it could be a daily thing that you have, if that's not already the case, to take lightly to heart. For most social problems, the real solution is to stop giving a shit.

Make up is a big one, especially the combination of foundation and heavy eye liner makes girls look a lot older. Downside is that it takes some skill to do that stuff and not look tacky. But virtually all "visible" (so the stuff you're really supposed to see, not a little shimmer in the corner of your eyes, neutral gloss on your lips or eyeshadow faded to a subtle hue) make up ages you.

Another part is the way you dress, especially at work. It could be that there's little room for improvement there, but if you still dress full college girl (ballet flats, jeans, t-shirts with quirky text or prints, tennis style skirts) this can make a big difference as well.

Matte is another thing that makes you look older (compared to glossy products). I can't 100% put my finger on it but it has at least in part to do with a bare face (with blemishes showing, no matter how faint, a more natural blush than a full face of make up has) just looking more childlike. The effect is probably extra strong because so many adult women wear more make up than what you describe.

Try to switch the jeans for a skirt with heels or a more pantalon type of trousers (not even sure how to call this in English but you know, woolen or satin, just not denim), they are even in style. Wear heels or elegant/dressy flat shoes, sneakers won't help you look more mature.

I do have blemishes showing, I have a very pale skin too so it's pretty evident if I have pimples and stuff.
I just can't give a shit on most days and really just go to work without make up, since my skin is pretty decent.

I don't really like skirts, I'm too clumsy and I'd probably end up showing underwear to everyone. But I will definitely try with some more elegant trousers instead of jeans, and maybe some more dressy shoes.

I feel you, I literally never wear make up accept for my single lipstick I wear to every single party ever. I don't think wearing make up is better, whether you have perfect skin or not, and I don't think it's a bad thing that you don't feel self-conscious to go out without covering everything up perfectly. But the reality is that most women don't dare to, don't want to, or have to meet expectations at work to look "professional" aka not bare-faced.

If you want to have a better idea of what it looks like, just practice when you're just by yourself (make sure to do it in natural light or you won't have an accurate idea of what you look like to others) and try wearing it around your boyfriend or friends or by yourself in the house so you can grow accustomed to it before you need to face everyone at work.

Either way my last point remains though, if you feel awkward about it you won't be calm and confident which is ultimately most important. I just think it's the thing that could make the most significant difference for the first impression.
