It's difficult to say. It really does help some people, but it really does make others more dangerous. Predicting which type your son will be is very, very difficult. Not the sort of speculation people who don't know him well, like us, should be indulging in.

What I recommend would be to have him take a judo class -judo, not jujutsu- for a year, and watch him carefully. If this goes well, then let him join the clubs (or continue with this class).

The reason I suggest judo is that martial arts and other fighting styles tend to run on a sliding scale of pragmatism vers philosophy, and judo runs a lot harder toward the philosophical end of the scale than boxing or Greco-Roman wrestling (or jujutsu, which is why I mentioned not confusing it with judo). This will slow down his advancement to some degree, giving you more time to notice if this turns out not to be such a good idea. But more importantly, the heavier emphasis on philosophy may also give him some of the tools he needs to mitigate his anger without lashing out or blowing off steam.
