Recently started freelance voiceover but I need many more ways to exercise, create a reel, and receive outright criticism.
I figure who could be more honest than a bunch of anonymous anons
Here goes;
>Post any content, request, whatever and I'll read it how you want
>Receive a better-than-half-hearted try
>Profit offit
Keep it random, I want to try new vocal stuff to get more criticism and advice on where to go

My name is Edward Douglas, Sr. I'm a banker. A suit. When I got into this business, it was face-to-face and hand-to-hand combat, day in, day out. It still is, but only if you're lucky.
These days, some punk from New Haven expects you to give him the same respect you'd give your mother's headstone. I'm not having it. If anyone thinks they can get the keys to the kingdom, what's the kingdom really worth?

Its my move! I draw! First, I'll activate the magic card, Pot of Greed! It allows me to draw 2 more cards from my deck!

Cool! I actually imagined it as an Irish-American kind of guy, but really professional and deliberate. Good job without any queues! I thought your accent was rough at the beginning, but it got better over time, as did the changes in pacing/volume. Really had me going by the end.
As for story, I just made it up.

great. thanks. I'm sure if I went through a few more times I would have picked up where I was going quicker. Just had to feel it out. This is what I mean by exercise. The name forced me to try the accent.
Post random shit I might actually give a few tries before recording if I like it
>You're a grizzled 70 year old wild man with a contemptuous respect for nature. You're speaking in someone's vision as they recall a day that felt like it happened years ago.
There were roots yesterday, covering a swell in the ground like veins on a tumor. I saw the sun; it shone behind the swell, off of the water, flexing around the roots. I felt them there, under my aching feet, round and rigid.
In my former line of work; you either lived long enough to get shot in the back by some punk or live the rest of your life sitting on your front porch, retired, living off some lousy pension after all those years of service; both of those options sucked, I had had enough.
So I quit.
Now I'm a private detective; I get hired by wives who think their husbands are cheating on them and husbands who want me to lie to their wives about their cheating; but at least I'm not getting shot; or so I thought.
It was a night like all the other ones, but something was odd about this one, maybe I had one too many cigarettes, or maybe my liquor was cheap, damn if I know; but then I got a call.
A woman on the other end, wanted me to investigate something about her son, a bit different from my regular work, but I accepted, it was good money; money; that I couldn't refuse.
I grabbed my trench coat and walked the streets, these cold, lonely streets...
The woman had given me the son's address, I was to run some simple surveillance, see what he's up to through the window, snap some pictures and report back, easy job.
I got my camera out and zoomed in on his widow, fifth floor... Hard to get a good angle.
But that sort of thing was usual. I went to the apartment next door, buzzed some of the people there and offered some money in exchange for taking some pictures from their apartment, a small sacrifice, but necessary in order to get paid; a man answered back, says I can come in, nice.
I make my way up, the man greets me by the door, I hand him over 20$, he let's me in, nice guy.
I make my way to the window and zoom in on the opposite building... There he is. My target.
Take a few pictures, seems to be having trouble with his girlfriend...
As I was about to finish my last set of photos, that's when it happened.
A muffled sound from behind, suppressed, my back felt warm, my body felt heavy; I had been shot in the back by the guy that I paid off; a set up, perhaps?
Fucking.
Shit.

Nice voice! Should be on latenight radio.
Say this: "You're listening to 108.5 KFR The Moon, I'm your host, (cool first and last names)".
"up next is loveline feat. Black Phillip at 1."
Or something like the two.
