Any tips? I'm excited but also anxious. I'm worrie ld about wasting the fuckton of money I'm taking out for loans since I dont have a clear idea yet on what i want to do. Law school is my first option but that seems like a shrinking profession.

What are you doing right now?

What subject are you studying? Do you want help or not?

I'm going in undeclared, first year courses could all count for any degree so I'm not pressured to do anything specific

What a dreadful system. What are the courses? Presumably there must be some things they couldn't count for.

Don't expect to suddenly find answers about what you want to do. Also, not all the experiences you'll have which will help you in that regard will be from within Uni.
I finished my undergrad (Comp Sci) still not really knowing where I wanted to go with it. Most of the others went off to work for software companies, but after doing a year's internship at one such company and hating it, I decided to pursue other things. I'm now about to start a postgrad degree in AI and hopefully end up doing some cool stuff, but still nothing is concrete yet.
Also, these few years will be confusing and probably unfulfilling for you, but just keep thinking about what it is you want from life. it may take years or it may come to you straight away (or not at all), but just keep on top of it and don't push it to one side. Also, sounds obvious but doing well at Uni helps considerably with having a lot of options, so don't slack off.

Well, I think it's nice since most people switch majors or even begin deciding on majors in their 2nd/3rd year, so anything they take as a freshman won't just be a waste. I'm taking general classes, psych, bio, philosophy, etc.

The point is, if they had to decide before applying, they'd grow up faster, and you wouldn't the phenomenon of young people on the debt treadmill already with no idea why they're even doing it.

Wouldn't *have* the phenomenon.
