Anyone else here find the concept of communicating to people through only hints and signals to be so ungodly offensive?

It's just so dishonest, condescending, and deceitful; and makes it really difficulty to listen to pretty much anybody speak and trust what they're saying at face value. It, understandably, leaves one to be not only suspicious of people in general, but also judge them harshly over the most insignificant things.

I also find it prejudice to assume that *anyone* would be able to read your hints and signal. Because they're probably not from a race, culture, or upbringing that recognises said cues. The only way I see that working is if you two have already known each other.

What's a good way to react to somebody you can tell isn't being upfront and direct with their communication? I'm thinking of just flat-out ignoring their cues until they are clear and solid with whatever if it is they're trying to convey. Or calling them out on it, and making it heard that this means of communication will not be respected, is not acceptable, is flat-out inexcusable, and will not be taken wholeheartedly.

Communication is mostly body language and tone, OP. You have to learn to pick up on these signals.

That's called autism honey.

Communication is more than what people speak. It's a lot more complex and involves things like body language. If you start 'calling people out' on communicating in a more complex way than you can handle, you're just going to alienate yourself.

A person being sly about their communication has more to not say than say. You can safely disregard statements made without clear intent, at least.
>>
Just pick up on it bro, it wurked4me. I share your sentiments.
>>
tbt human body language is a fascinating topic
>>
>>17517518
Yeah, no, fuck that. That is a highly, *highly* disrespectful means of communicating with a person. It's very underhanded. Incredibly untruthful. It makes an assumption about your background that can be potentially ethnocentric, racist, sexist, or ablest. It's fraudulent. It's deceptive. And ruins your ability for others to trust you. No one should be expected to pick up on anything from aside from clear and direct contact.
>>
>>17517520
Nah, if someone is being passive agressive you don't have to deal with it.
>>
And what's the alternative? All language engages in semiotics. A written language may be less ambiguous, but it still has a ridiculous amount of ambiguity.
>>

You sound like a paranoid whiny faggot. Seriously, just grown up and learn to socialize like everyone else.
>>
>>17517553
You wanna be a prick, you can be a prick outside for free, how about that?
>>
>>17517553
>And what's the alternative?
Being clear and honest with what you're saying, and saying what you mean. That should be all there is to it.

>>17517555
If you think being indirect and dishonest with your means of communication is socialising, you're obviously not someone who can be trusted with even the most basic things, nor can any of your words be counted and relied on. You're too incapable of candour and credibility to even be considered a basic, functioning human being. And I feel absolutely sorry for those who are unlucky enough to know you.
>>
>>17517558

I'm sorry, what do you mean by that?

:^)
>>
>>17517564
Oh, Fuck You And Everything
>>
>>17517516
not everybody can read social cues. not every place has the same meanings of body languages and hints. and not everybody deliberately expresses them. those are mainly why I find this topic irritating. don't like making presumptions of people I don't know, nor do I like seeing other people make presumptions of others. which is a mistake often committed when trying to communicate through just body language alone. the concept isn't universal and doesn't translate to everybody or everywhere. a big reason why it's pretty rude.
>>
If it's someone you know, communication through body language and cues should be completely acceptable and expected. If it's someone you don't know or have just met, then that's really disrespectful and a slap to the face.
